Make Your Presentations Sing

Guidance for Sixth Grade Language Arts Students

Consider how to Improve Your Digital Presentations

You have to make a presentation using digital media. What are some steps to making it the best it can be. Consider the guidance provided in the Google Slides presentation above. Here is a link to this Google Slides presentation.

Why are Presentations Important?

The following Common Core State Standards support students' creation and use of digital presentations:
  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.6.2
Interpret information presented in diverse media and formats (e.g., visually, quantitatively, orally) and explain how it contributes to a topic, text, or issue under study.
  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.6.5
Include multimedia components (e.g., graphics, images, music, sound) and visual displays in presentations to clarify information.
  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.6.6
Adapt speech to a variety of contexts and tasks, demonstrating command of formal English when indicated or appropriate.

In the 21st Century world of work, you will need to master the skills of making and presenting information digitally. Start now and you will be ready for the encore when you are asked to perform!
